Turning 60 …

Recently, I had a birthday (Thank you for all the birthday wishes. I appreciate it. Truly).
For many months, I had been toying with various crazy ideas on what to do on my 60th birthday. I decided not to pursue any of them. However, I did want to do something. So we all had dinner at Revival, which was amazing and special.
We saved the cake and presents for the (nearly) annual combined b-day between me and my eldest, Evan, who just turned 21.
The fam outdid themselves this year, as you can see. Thankfully, you only turn 60 once. There was a theme: Tony’s Theme.
A Godzilla T-shirt and a car sticker. Yes! A “Dadzilla” hat. Double Yes! (Dominic, who gave me the hat, has permitted me to wear it at 2025-2026 wrestling meets … go Tide!). Coffee and a new coffee maker, candy, chips, avocados, Bai drinks, and a skeleton on an exercise bike. A book to write all my crazy ideas in (like what to do for 61 or 62, maybe?). Another T-shirt: “I may be old, but I got to see all the cool bands,” from my sister-in-law. Thank you. Truth. And “On Air” warning signs… Queue the Psychedelic Furs song, “All of This and Nothing”…
Pixies’ “Tony’s Theme,” which starts with Kim Deal saying, “This is a song about a superhero named Tony … it’s called, Tony’s Theme,” was the theme music for my radio show for many years. I didn’t play the song because I thought I was a superhero; it’s just silly and fun. And it has my name in the song. LOL Radio is my first love. There is an art to it that is lost. I began hosting a talk show and playing music in the early 1990s. Later, my music show aired on a low-power FM station in Concord as well as an online radio station in Manchester. I have been off the radio for a long time. More than 7 years. But all that’s about the change. Stay tuned…
