Note to Trump: Hire Someone to Vet Socials
Note to Donald Trump: you can’t – and won’t – know every quote you re-Tweet; it’s impossible. However, social media is full of tricksters; and now they consider themselves journalists or vice versa … and you should know this by now.
The fight for freedom and survival is never ending. Jefferson surmised that the tree of liberty would need to be refreshed every generation by the blood of tyrants and patriots. But is one now a terrorist if you re-Tweet this today because Timothy McVeigh wore it on a T-shirt the day he, Terry Nichols, and others unknown blew up the Murrah building?
Neil Young stated, quite eloquently, it’s better to burn out than fade away. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that one wants that to happen today.
“It’s better to die on your feet than live on your knees,” Peter Garrett of Midnight Oil has powerfully sung since the early 1980s. It is truth – but that doesn’t mean anyone wants to be mowed down.
“Live free or die: Death is not the worst of evils,” the toast of Gen. John Stark, is our state motto. But any one of these things can be misconstrued today.
Stick to beating up your opponents on Twitter or hire someone to vet things before you re-Tweet.
